Start a Sayoc Training Group

Sayoc Training Groups are formed by interested parties who want to train Sayoc Kali but are not conveniently located near an official Sayoc school. Training Groups ideally consist of a minimum of 4 people and must be sponsored by a Sayoc Full Instructor or Sayoc Tuhon. The Training Group Leader will periodically host their sponsoring instructor to come to their area and teach the Sayoc Kali-Silak curriculum. Then the training group is responsible for training that material on their own, according to their schedule. Training Groups are well suited for martial arts practitioners/instructors who own/operate their own school and would like to add Sayoc Kali to their training and/or become a certified Sayoc Instructor to eventualy add Sayoc Kali to their curriculum.

Training Group Requirements

  1. A Training Group cannot be within 30 miles of another Sayoc Training Group.
  2. The Training Group leader must coordinate a training seminar with Tuhon Ricardo a minimum of once every 3 months. This is to advance your training with new material and to evaluate the progress of your group. Evaluation is a constant in Sayoc. Not only of how you represent yourselves, but also how you represent Sayoc.
  3. The Training Group must provide a safe, private and secure area to train. Alternatively, Training Groups can opt to come to the Sayoc NorCal facility. Training will last 3 hours.
  4. The cost to host Tuhon Ricardo for your periodic training seminar is $100.00 per person. Minimum of 3 people. Less than 3 people constitutes a private session and the associated fees apply. Additional travel fees may apply depending on your location.

Training group rules.

  1. No live blades while training. This is a requirement at all times. In addition to safety, we will explain why live blades are actually NOT an ideal training tool.
  2. All Training Group members must be a registered member of Sayoc International Group
  3. The Training Group leader is allowed to video the group’s training sessions but must provide a copy of the video to Sayoc NorCal before the next meeting. The video cannot be distributed, copied or made available to the public.
  4. The training group leader cannot accept fees for Sayoc training unless they become a certified Sayoc instructor.
