I just returned from the Sayoc ‘Camp 505’ week-long training camp. What an eye opener it was! I wrote a little about what Camp 505 was all about in a previous post. Every Camp 505 has a different, specific purpose. This week was all about exploring what happens when preparing for a real and dangerous situation. Stress, fear, preparation and planning, and action were all part of last week’s training camp.
A thought exercise: What if you knew, ahead of time, that you were going into some kind of situation that was dangerous enough that you could die. Would you make special plans to put your so-called ‘house’ in order? Emergency contacts, wills, next-of-kin, insurance, etc…? Would you make special plans to tell the people close to you that you love them?
If so, why wait? We don’t always have time to to prepare for a dangerous situation. That dangerous situation could be tonight at the convenience store. There is no time to do the things you meant to do when the situation is already happening. If you have someone you love and you need to tell them, do it today. Do it every day.
Is your house in order?
